Out on the Town: Attending an Art Gallery Opening

After moving to the city and making a few friends in the local business community, I began to receive invitations to different events. The first time that I received an invitation to the opening of a new art gallery, I was not sure what to do. From choosing something to wear to determining how I was supposed to conduct myself at the event seemed a little intimidating. I quickly learned that going to an art gallery for an opening or a new show is not a scary prospect. In fact, it can be a lot of fun. Thanks to help from a sympathetic friend, I navigated that first opening without creating any type of serious social misstep.
